Rain is fun. Especially for kids who can play, get soaked and have fun under it. Unfortunately, the fun does not apply to all. Working people, who has to commute everyday from home to work and vice-versa, experience so much inconvenience when it rains. But you know what? Maybe the reason for the convenience is their lack of preparation. During rainy season, when you’re almost sure that it’s going to rain every single day, you must have the initiative and common sense to prepare against it by bringing your rainy-day must-haves.
Umbrella
This is the very basic thing you have to pack in your bag every day. Good thing umbrellas now come in different sizes, colors, designs and styles so you won’t have to worry that your umbrella will ruin your outfit for the day. Some people prefer the golf-umbrella type since it seems much sturdier against wind, but some prefer the folding types so they can hide it away inside their bags. Guess, they don’t want to look like they’re walking with a cane.
Rainy-day Shoes
Your feet are probably the most battered part of you body when you walk in the rain. So you have to wear shoes that are appropriate and made for rainy days. The best footwear of course, is boots. But can wear other footwear types that are made out of rubber, like the jellyshoes. At least when you step in a puddle of water you don’t have to worry about your shoes’ stitching, etc. And oh, please think twice of wearing high heels.
Toiletries
Another must-have during rainy days is your toiletries that can dry and clean you up. Pack your toiletry bag with a tissue paper, wet wipes, alcohol, band aid, and if you like, add liquid soap in there too. Chances of contracting viruses, bacteria and fungi is higher during rainy seasons so make sure you stay dry and sanitized, okay?
Extra Clothes
It’s so much better to be prepared for the worst. Pack a set of extra clothes in case your umbrella, your jacket or your boots fail to keep you dry. What if you have to go to a client’s meeting despite the rain? At least, you’re ready with a dry set of clothes after you get wet from your travel.
Don’t let the rain put you down. There are several ways to get you prepared for the rainy days ahead.
